Can You Handle Heat? 🌶️🌶️

Summer is coming to Berlin and with it, one of its hottest events. Literally.

The fiery Berlin Chili Festival is returning on the 25th and 26th of May 2024 for its spring edition, once again taking over the Berliner Berg brewery for a celebration of chilis, hot sauce, craft beer, and delicious food.

If you’re in Berlin during this time, and are a spicy food enthusiast, make sure to pop by this two-day festival in the east, close to Treptower Park. There will be live music, comedy, and spicy cabaret on the main stage. This is the bi-annual event’s fourth year – and though you might think Germans are afraid of spicy food –  last September saw over 7.000 chili fans descend on the venue of Berliner Berg brewery. Europe’s finest hot sauce makers will come together at this event. There will be 55 hot sauce stands, delicious food from fifteen carefully selected vendors, and a huge range of craft beers and cocktails.

If you’re feeling brave enough, you may also take part in the chili eating competition. Clifton Chili Club will be running the chili eating competition this May, it is open to everyone, just for fun, prizes, and giveaways. As seen on Netflix “We Are the Champions”, they are also the biggest chili YouTube channel with over 300 million views.

The event is being sponsored this year by Oatly, the famous Swedish dairy alternatives brand – so you can always expect to have soothing drinks at hand when the chili burn kicks in!
