When you visit the beautiful city of Stuttgart, you can certainly take some time and make a getaway to Esslingen am Neckar , a city within the federal state of Badem Württemberg, and the capital of the district of Esslingen. It is located on the banks of the River Neckar, 10 km from Stuttgart’s city center
Its attractions include numerous medieval monuments, especially in the old part of the city.
Esslingen has a long winemaking tradition. As early as 778 there were wineries and weingartens in the region, and in the Middle Ages wine was already being exported to Alsace and Bavaria.
More than 20 varieties of grapes are grown on an area of 80 hectares, out of which 30 are located on the terraces south of the Neckar River. The smaller Wurttemberger variety, grown in the vicinity of a beautiful castle, produces truly appreciated wines.
